The DEATH Stranding 2: on the beach score soundtrack is out now!!

Ludvig Forssell is a composer known for building rich, immersive sound worlds — especially through his long-running collaboration with acclaimed game director Hideo Kojima.

His work on Death Stranding helped define the game’s distinct tone, blending haunting textures with emotional depth. The 2019 release became a critical and cultural hit, earning Forssell multiple awards and BAFTA nominations for both Best Music and Best Audio.

As the former in-house composer and audio director at Kojima Productions, he played a key role in shaping the sound of the studio's projects — a partnership that continues with the highly anticipated Death Stranding 2, set to release on June 26.

Forssell’s most recent film score can be heard in Boy Kills World, the Lionsgate action thriller starring Bill Skarsgård as a deaf protagonist navigating a hyper-stylized world. His inventive score amplifies the film’s chaotic energy and darkly comic tone.

Earlier in his career, Forssell was a lead composer at Konami, where he scored Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which The Guardian hailed as “the greatest stealth game ever made.”

Raised in Umeå, Sweden, Forssell started writing music young and developed a deep love for Japanese pop culture. After moving to Tokyo to study game scoring, he quickly found his footing. Whether working in games or film, Forssell approaches each project as a creative challenge. “Writing music is never a given,” he says. “The fun part is solving the puzzle.”
